6 Promises of the Bible to Encourage Your Faith

Bolster.

It’s an unusual word.

But, to bolster something is to support it, uphold it, strengthen it, and reinforce it.

Maybe today you would like something to uphold, strengthen, and reinforce your life.

6 Promises of the Bible to Encourage Your Faith

We all have days when we need words to support, uphold, strengthen, and reinforce our faith.

Especially with all that is happening in our world right now, we can all use a little hope!

I’d like to offer you some tremendous words of hope today!

Here are 6 wonderful promises of the Bible to encourage your faith today:

Promise OneRomans 4:18

WAITING.

It can make even the bravest soul weak.

When we have to wait & wait & wait, we can begin to lose heart. Doubt can creep in. Frustration can build up. Desperation will start knocking at our door.

That’s when we have to turn to faith & hope. Abraham believed that there was NO reason to have hope.

We are told in Romans 4:17, “Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing.”

THINK ABOUT THIS… If God can bring the dead back to life and create this world out of nothing, can’t He also take care of whatever you and I are waiting on??

Sometimes it is really hard to have FAITH in God and in His timing & plans for our lives. Here are some Bible verses to bolster and strengthen even the most faint-hearted Christian. It is our prayer that these scriptures will infuse your heart with hope. Why not stop by for a little hope today??

Promise Two – Mark 9:24 (part one)

There’s a wonderful story in the Bible in the Book of Mark where Jesus encounters a father with a son who is very ill. The boy had what the Bible calls a “mute spirit.”

The father asks Jesus to do something to help his son.

He cries out with tears in Mark 9:24, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” And, Jesus healed the boy.

What a great way for us to pray today – especially as we are facing a season that is hard and daunting: “Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.”

Promise Three – Mark 9:24 (part two)

Unbelief.

Lack of faith.

Someone asked me yesterday about this concept. I found the most interesting thing I studied.

The word “unbelief” in the original language means, “An unwillingness to commit oneself to another or to respond positively to someone’s actions or words.” (Greek-English Lexicon)

How often are we just UNWILLING to trust God?

How often are we just UNWILLING to commit ourselves to what the Bible says?

Maybe this father’s prayer in Mark 9:24 could read, “MAKE ME WILLING TO BE WILLING to trust You, Jesus!”

Promise Four – Exodus 14:31

What does it take for us to trust God and put our faith in Him??

For the people of Israel, they had to see the Red Sea open up, the Egyptians drown, and this amazing miracle BEFORE they put their faith in the Lord. Their faith came AFTER their miracle.

What about you and me??

Do we trust Him before the miracle comes?

Before we see Him act on our behalf?

Or, do we wait until our miracle comes to trust Him?

I pray we will believe even when we cannot see it! May we put our faith in Him BEFORE the miracles happen!

“When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the Lord had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the Lord and his servant Moses.” Exodus 14:31
