8 Inspiring Books for Every Mom

Books.

I love books.

At any given time, I can be reading, browsing, re-reading, and soaking up five or six books.

Are you looking for some inspiring books for mom? Here's a reading list of books that offer encouragement, affirmation, and life-changing truths for moms, ladies, and women of all ages.

I just love to read, learn, discover and explore through the written word.

And, I know I’m not the only one.

Many women love to read.

Many moms love to read.

With summer just around the corner, I thought some of you might be looking for good books to read while you have your toes dug into the sand or while lounging by the pool.

Or, maybe you just like to read when you snuggle into bed at night.

Whatever the case, here are 8 Inspiring Books for Every Mom:

Book One

Fervent: A Woman’s Battle Plan to Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer by Priscilla Shirer

This is my very favorite book on how to pray!

It’s practical, personal, and easy to use.

If you desire to become a mom, a grandmom, a friend, a wife, a woman who prays; you need to get this book! I highly recommend it. And, I love the little tear-out prayer cards in the back of the book!

Sarah’s book, “You Can Learn to be Content,” is packed full of scripture, personal testimony, and much hope. So encouraging. We loved it!”

  1. Wife School – my husband would like me to read that one! Hahaha! Right now, I read for pure enjoyment. I read many self-help, parenting books while raising the girls. Couldn’t get enough information. Now, I’m reading for fun. Happy Mother’s Day Melanie!

  2. Thank you for sharing this great book list (and for including me)! I’m one of those people who always has 3-4 books going at a time, too. I love reading. Fervent is a book that I just got for my Birthday- and I’m planning on reading it this weekend! Many of these books you mentioned, I already know and love. I trust your recommendations, so I will look into reading the others, soon! Sharing this post all over. : )

    1. Thank you, Dawn!
And, I’d love to hear some of your suggestions. I’m always looking for a good, new book to read.
You are certainly a sweet friend, and I appreciate you!
      Blessings,
      Melanie

  3. These all look like great, encouraging reads! I loved Be Still My Soul, and really, anything by Elisabeth Elliot! I want to start Fervent soon, as soon as a friend returns the book to me. Have you read or heard of Calm My Anxious Heart by Linda Dillow? I think that is a great book for women as well. It helped me deal with worries and fear with the truth of scripture.

(Visiting from the linkup on GrammieTime)

    1. Hey Elena,
Thanks so much for stopping by from Grammie Time today! I appreciate you and your visit.
I haven’t heard of Calm My Anxious Heart, but it sounds good!
I will look it up. Thanks for the recommendation!
Hope you have a blessed weekend~
      Melanie

  4. This is a great list, Melanie! I’m happy to read more about Kaylene’s book. It looks really good. Read more about yours on Anawins today. What am I reading right now? Just finished For the Love by Jen Hatmaker, and it’s totally different than any Christian book I ever read. It’s hilarious, made me laugh until my sides ached, and it had a deep message as well. Now reading Come With Me by Suzie Eller. Simply life-changing.

    1. Thank you, Betsy!
Kaylene’s book does look great. Thanks for the suggestion about Jen Hatmakers’s book. And, I like the sound of Suzie Eller’s book as well.
Sounds like you are a reader too!
Hope you have a Happy Mother’s Day!
      Sure do appreciate your kindness~
      Melanie

  5. This is a great list, Melanie! I need to get my hands on your book;) I think it is along the same lines as mine! Thanks for linking up with Grace and Truth.

  6. A great selection of books! What great resources any Mom can benefit from! I’m like you … books everywhere! It is so funny because my husband does not like to read at all! We are polar opposites! I always find so much hope in between the pages of great literature, though! He says he just relies on me to share the hope I find with him 🙂

Thank you, sweet friend, for sharing this hope alongside me on Moments of Hope! It wouldn’t be the same without you!
    Hugs,
    Lori

    1. Hey Lori,
My husband doesn’t read much either! It is so funny how we marry opposites!
I love to read, and I think it’s fun to share book ideas!
      Thank you for your encouragement.
I’m blessed by you and by your ministry!
      Melanie

  7. What a wonderful collection of books, Melanie! I have been wanting to read the “Fervent” book so I am glad you shared it! Congrats on your book! I will have to check it out! Thanks for sharing with #SocialButterflySunday! Hope to see you link up again this week 🙂

  8. What a great idea for a blog post!! I am always looking for inspiring mommy must haves! I am really pleased I came across your site 🙂 I have a must have book for your list. You and your mommy readers have to check out “Where’s My Award? How to Get Baby Barf Out of a Red Carpet & Other Tales from a Working Mom in Hollywood” (http://margotblack.com/) by comedian turned celebrity publicist Margot Black. This memoir is absolutely hilarious and the Hollywood stories she has to share are unbelievable. As a mommy I could relate to her tales of woe about parent teacher meetings and finding the best “organic” food out there for the kids but her celebrity encounters and embarrassing mommy moments at work are stories that you won’t forget anytime soon! The book really does provide a very unique insight at the extraordinary demands placed on working moms in America today. I really hope you will give it a read and let me know what you think. I would love to see it on a future list of yours 🙂 Thanks again

    1. Hey Blanca,
Thanks for stopping by today to leave a kind word! I’m so glad you stopped by.
And, I appreciate the suggestion of Margot Black’s book. I will have to look for it. Sounds like a great book for moms!
It’s good to connect with you today. Please stop by again for a visit. Your comments and your presence are welcome!
      Blessings,
      Melanie
