Share the Hope!

We’re back again today with another wonderful post in the Summer Sizzle Series!

Teaming up with some of my very favorite blogging friends, we are offering a series that Summer Sizzle Serieswe are calling, “Summer Sizzle.”

Each week, I’ll be sharing the best articles from several amazing women that I personally know, pray for, do ministry with, and dearly love.

Today, you get to enjoy a positive word of hope from my friend Valerie Murray. Valerie and her family live in San Jose, California.

I had the chance to meet her earlier this year. She’s a beautiful wife and mom of four with a heart to encourage others.

I hope and pray you will be inspired today as you read!

Has anyone ever broken a promise to you?

Don’t broken promises make trusting hard?

Perhaps broken promises have scarred your heart and you find yourself having a hard time trusting the promises of God.

Bible Verses on FAITH that can improve your Prayer Life

Bible Verses on FAITH that can improve your Prayer Life

God will never break his promises!

“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind.

Does he speak and then not act?

Does he promise and not fulfill?”

Numbers 23:19

Since we’re human, sometimes we allow our feelings to invade what’s true.

But thankfully, how we feel never affects the truth found in His Word! Amen to that! There are thousands of promises in the Bible. God has the power to fulfill all that He promised us!

We can claim these truths in prayer. Claiming them through prayer affirms our faith in them.

What promises can we claim?

Some of the promises in the Bible are meant for a particular time and situation, like God promising a baby to Sarah.

Other promises are followed by acts of obedience to precepts or commands in the Bible.

For example, Proverbs 3:5-6 says that when we trust in the Lord with all our heart and acknowledge him in all our ways He will direct our paths.

When we trust in God, He directs our paths!

“And many promises are meant for all believers: The promise of salvation for all who believe.”

Romans 10:9

And the gift of the Holy Spirit which gives us peace.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.

I do not give to you as the world gives.

Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

John 14:27

Are you worried?

Afraid?

Discouraged?

I’ve found when I claim God’s truth, my faith is strengthened.

Recently, I was nervous about something I felt God wanted me to do.

But I was afraid of failing. I needed to claim God’s truth.  And once I did, my worry subsided. My nerves calmed down. I felt confident. Equipped. Peace replaced fear, doubt, and worry.

I claimed this scripture:

“Such confidence we have through Christ toward God.

Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant.”

1 Corinthians 3:4-6

One way to claim scripture is to thank God for his promise.

I thanked him for making me an adequate servant.

When I feel inadequate, I can be confident that my sufficiency comes from God!

God’s word is living and active

“For the word of God is alive and active.

Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Hebrews 4:12

Do you feel lost in life?

His word will guide your path.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

Psalm 119:105

Do you need counsel?

“Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors.”

Psalm 119:24

When you pray back the truth of God’s promises it changes you.

It strengthens your faith!

Claiming the promises of God

  • Helps you to claim God’s Word for your own life
  • Trains your mind to think about what’s true
  • Builds trust in God
  • Puts faith into action
  • Dispels fears
  • Gives confidence
  • Gives  strength
  • Fights the enemy
  • Gives hope and peace
  • Affirms God’s love for you

What promise have you claimed?

How has it strengthened your faith?

I would love for you to share in the comments.
