Things are a little CRAZY in our world right now.
In our countries.
In our churches, our schools, and our government.
And, in even in our homes.
But, “crazy” is not something new in 2017.
Crazy has been around since the beginning of time.
King David knew about crazy. His son Solomon also knew crazy. And, they wrote about it in the Psalms and in Proverbs.
Today, as we consider how we are to deal with the “crazy” in our lives, we can be reminded of some of the sweetest promises in all of the Bible.
When we are feeling insecure, off balance, and even a little weirded out, we can turn to scripture for words of great hope and affirmation.
These words encouraged both David and Solomon in their day, and I believe they will encourage us as well on this day.
Just because things are crazy around us, things do not have to be crazy deep within our hearts.Just because things are crazy around us, things do not have to be crazy deep within our hearts. Click To Tweet
Here are Five Verses to Encourage You When You Feel INSECURE:
2 Samuel 22:2-3
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the power that saves me,
and my place of safety.
He is my refuge, my savior,
the one who saves me from violence.”
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble?”
“Be my rock of safety
where I can always hide.
Give the order to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.”
“He is my loving ally and my fortress,
my tower of safety, my rescuer.
He is my shield, and I take refuge in him.
He makes the nations submit to me.”
“The name of the Lord is a strong fortress;
the godly run to him and are safe.”
And, just for fun… here’s one of my favorite “shelter” songs!
It’s “Blessed Be the Name of the Lord” by my long-time friend Kim Hill.
