What are you looking for these days?

Hope?

Money?

Love?

A new job?

That perfect person?

Maybe your car keys or the remote?

Or, even your wallet?

If you use a cryptocurrency wallet, you won’t have to look for it.

What are you looking for these days? Hope? Money? Maybe your car keys or the remote? We are all searching, looking, seeking, and wanting to find something. Searching and seeking are normal parts of life. But, are there some things we ought to be looking for? And, what does the Bible say about seeking and finding? Drop by the blog today to find out!

We are all searching, looking, seeking, and wanting to find something.

To find is to attain or reach your goal.

Also, to find is to discover by searching or by effort.

To find is to discover by searching or by effort.

To find is to detect, discover, encounter, locate, turn up, unearth, recover, or to track down.

I think most of us LOVE to find what we are searching for!

So, what are you searching for right now?

Just yesterday, I was trying to find a gift certificate that my husband gave me for my birthday. The certificate allowed me to get a free manicure and pedicure at a local salon.

I turned my desk and my files upside down looking for that silly gift. Finally, after much searching, I found it.

(My nails look really good today… in case you were wondering!!)

What about you?

What causes you to look so hard that you turn over drawers and piles and couch cushions?

Did you know that the Bible talks a great deal about searching and finding?

Perhaps, you might want to change what you are looking for after considering some great scriptures?

What does the Bible encourage us to seek after?

Here are 6 scriptures that discuss searching and finding:

Scripture One – 1 Chronicles 28:9

“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.”

David is giving instructions as he is preparing to turn over his throne and his leadership to his son Solomon.

He tells Solomon – “If you will seek Him, He will be found by you.”

We are told numerous times in the Bible to SEEK GOD! Seek after God. Seek to know Him.

Scripture Two – Proverbs 3:13

“Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding;”

The Amplified Bible translates this way,

“Happy [blessed, considered fortunate, to be admired] is the man who finds [skillful and godly] wisdom, And the man who gains understanding and insight [learning from God’s word and life’s experiences],”

Seek after, look for, and search for wisdom and understanding. Seek to be wiser, more discerning, and more insightful.

Several times a week, I will pray and ask God to give me more wisdom and insight. I ask the Lord to make me wise. You can do this too!

“Wisdom is seeing things from God’s point of view.”

(Adrian Rogers)

Scripture Three – Isaiah 55:6

“Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.”

This scripture on searching comes from Isaiah, a major prophet to the Jewish people. He was often telling the people to seek the Lord and to call out to Him.

We could learn from Isaiah’s instruction as well. Seek the Lord. Call upon Him.

Scripture Four – Jeremiah 6:16

This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’”

The prophet Jeremiah is encouraging the people of his day to stop, look, and follow the good and godly ways. He tells them that by traveling the good and godly path, they will find rest for their souls.

Would you like to find deep rest for your soul?

Stop. Look. Find the best path. Find a good and godly path. Walk that way. Find rest for your souls.

Scripture Five – Matthew 7:7-8

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

These verses come from one of Jesus’s greatest sermons. During this particular section of the sermon, Jesus is encouraging the people to seek diligently. Don’t give up easily. Don’t stop too soon.

How about you? Do you pray with diligence? Do you keep on seeking, asking, and knocking?

Sometimes, prayer takes a great deal of patience!

We have to keep on keeping on and keeping on.

“Pray until you get what you want or until God changes your want-er.”

Scripture Six – Matthew 10:39

“He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.”

This final scripture that I’m sharing today is one of those challenging conundrums taught be Jesus.

If you lose your life, you’ll find it.

If you give, you’ll gain.

I don’t know that I can really explain it to you, but I can attest to the fact that surrender brings peace. When I give up my will and my plans for God, I find incredible joy and rest for my soul.

Trying to find an answer to some things that haven’t gone right in me and my fiance’s lives… We are good people not perfect and yet we get hit with bad every time we try to rise above and be calm and patient and good…when we realize other people do bad a d get away with it calling themselves christians when they minipulate the laws and people around them to make themselves look good and godly we were wronged by people and now we don’t have a home… They worked the system to perfect timing for them but not us. We lost a lot and are now struggling to fight for what we need as in a house or vehicle, we were wronged by our past exes and now have no way to recover, or have anyone to give us a chance when the exes have stolen, lied, blinded the law and everything . All we do is try… Make the best of what we have and thank God for the friend we have to keep us with a roof and necessities for our 4 year old son. But when will it be we are given the chance to live out list best the right way without the past hurting and preventing us from going forward?. If anyone has an answer for me and my family please share, no we are not perfect, but we do right by others and don’t ask for much , we try on our own and I’m too young to live so old… But no light has been shed directly, it’s all a mixed up black spotted blurry maze. Why are we getting punishment so harshly for so long and the ones that are wrong don’t get punished?… They go about there lives fake, unfaithful, dark, sneaky, manipulating, hateful and mostly unbelievers… And it’s the world…. I refuse to follow the evil that liea ahead… But I see and feel it every day and I pray for those that don’t know…. God said speak the word of God to anyone you can I. The last days …. And I do… I don’t push anyone to each there own… But as long as my kids are okay… I will fight and keep fighting for I am a warrior of God. So I guess what I’m saying is…. Some things don’t make sense… Just know God has a plan. Even if two days before you die things turn out right finally. Even at that… Not sure… God bless everyone.
