Share the Hope!

Strength.

It’s something we all really want to have. We want to have strong bones, strong teeth, strong minds, strong character, and strong families.

STRENGTH is a desirable thing in our lives.

It’s a good thing. It’s synonymous with qualities such as power, energy, force, vigor, capacity, aptitude, and capability.

All of us need words of encouragement to infuse our faith and give us hope. Here are 7 Bible verses to increase your faith in God and in the truth of His Word. Why not drop by for some inspirational thoughts and beautiful words for your day?

However, I have to admit… sometimes I don’t feel so strong.

Some days, I feel the exact opposite of strong.

Sometimes, instead, I feel really…

Weak.

Powerless.

Lacking.

Weary.

How about you?

Do you ever find yourself NOT feeling so strong and powerful?

Do you also have moments when you are weary and lacking?

On those days when my strength is weak, I love to go some of my very favorite scripture verses and be reminded of the strength of the Lord… the strength that He gives.

Here are Seven Bible Verses to Give You STRENGTH (plus a bonus verse):

Verse One – Philippians 4:13

When you look at this verse in the context of Philippians 4, it’s interesting to note that Paul is talking about gifts, money, need, and contentment.

In the verses proceeding this one, he has mentioned how he has learned to be content in any and every situation, in plenty or in little, with nothing or with everything.

Then, he opens these very well-known words, “I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me.”

Maybe today you are facing some great financial challenges?

Or, possibly you and your family are in real need?

It may be that you are praying for a gift or a real miracle today?

Wherever you are and whatever you are dealing with… you can do THIS through Him who strengthens and empowers you.

Verse Two – Matthew 22:36-37

When Jesus was asked to share the greatest commandment of all, He could have shared something about obedience or tithing or holiness.

Instead, He told the religious leaders something very simple and yet quite challenging – Love God with everything you’ve got; that’s the most important thing.

~ I wonder if we were to spend all of our energies loving God, how might that change everything else in our lives??

~ If you and I were to make our love relationship with the Lord paramount in our lives, what impact might this have on all of our other stuff??

“Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’

(Matthew 22:36-37, NLT)

Verse Three – Habakkuk 3:19

“The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!”

Verse Four – Nehemiah 8:10

Remember the story of Nehemiah, Ezra, & the people hearing the Book of the Law (the first 5 books of the Bible) read after years of not hearing it?

The people stood for hours to listen to God’s Word read and taught to them. Then they fell to the ground in worship and in weeping.

Nehemiah told the people, “Don’t be dejected and sad, for the JOY of the LORD is your strength.”

Maybe someone reading this today is overwhelmed, grieving, mourning, or sad?

Be encouraged… read and study the Bible and learn from God’s Word. Then, take to heart the message of Nehemiah, “Don’t be dejected and sad, for the JOY of the LORD is your strength.”

No matter what is going on in your life, around your life, or near your life – the joy of the LORD is and can be your strength.

You can turn to Him right now and allow Him to give you the grace and the courage to face whatever is daunting to you!

Verse Five – Psalm 46:1

What a sweet reminder in the middle of life’s chaos! “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Ps. 46:1, KJV

The notes in the Life Application Bible amplify this idea: “The Psalm writer says that even if the world were to end, we need not fear.

It seems impossible to consider the end of the world without becoming consumed by fear, but the Bible is clear–God is our refuge even in the midst of total destruction.

He is not merely a temporary retreat; He is our ETERNAL REFUGE and can provide strength in ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.” (emphasis mine)

Don’t be intimidated; I am your Elohim.
And, I will strengthen you.
I will help you.
I will support you with my victorious right hand.”

Bonus Verse – 2 Timothy 4:16-17

When Paul writes these words, he is nearing the end of his life and he is all alone. Everyone has left him.

No one has stayed with him or is standing by him at this juncture in his life.

That is when he writes these words, “BUT the Lord stood with me and gave me strength.” (2 Tim. 4:16-17)

Maybe today… you feel all alone.

Maybe your friends and family members have abandoned you.

Possibly you are struggling with the loneliness and the heartache of solitude.

Be encouraged today that the Lord will stand with you and give you strength.

He pledges to NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU! (Hebrews 13:5)
