Here are 11 Inspirational Books for Women:

Book OneDouble Blessing: How to Get It. How to Give It. (Mark Batterson)

New York Times bestselling author and pastor Mark Batterson believes the key to radically increase your faith, joy, and abundance can be found in these three words: Flip the blessing.

We flip the blessing by blessing others in the way God has blessed us. That’s how the blessing becomes a double blessing. It turns giving into a game—one we can’t win because God will always outgive us! It’s an ancient truth found within the Abrahamic covenant: “I will bless you . . . and you will be a blessing.”

In other words, we are blessed to bless. The first blessing is receiving, but it doesn’t end there. The second blessing is giving it away! That’s the double blessing. And that’s where double joy is found.

Personally, I was so challenged by this book, that I read it two times!

Book TwoThe God Who Cares and Knows You: John. (Kay Arthur and Pete De Lacy)

Kay Arthur’s life-changing New Inductive Study Series has sold more than 1.2 million copies. This exciting series brings readers face-to-face with the truth of God’s precepts, promises, and purposes—in just minutes a day. Ideal for individual study, one-on-one discipleship, group discussions, and quarterly classes.

With this inductive study of the Gospel of John, readers will discover the God who longs for His people to deeply know Him. As they learn to observe, interpret, and apply the text themselves, readers will come to a fresh understanding of God’s incredible love and intimate knowledge of them, and the assurance that they can trust Him to lead and guide their lives with mercy and grace.

We are using this study in a small group at my church and loving it!

Book ThreeMore of God: A Distracted Woman’s Guide to More Meaningful Quiet Times. (Betsy DeCruz)

Many of us long to experience more of God in our daily lives, yet we’re too distracted by a busy schedule, our own anxious thoughts, and even social media to hear His voice. We can’t slow down long enough to receive what God wants to give us.

Betsy de Cruz has learned that opening small windows to invite God in can make a big difference in our day.

In More of God, Betsy invites us to a fresh sense of God’s presence as we rediscover:

  • How spending 20 minutes with God leads to more peace and joy all-day
  • Ways to conquer distraction and grow our prayer lives
  • Simple solutions to help us hear God’s voice as we read Scripture
  • Creative ideas for making quiet time a delight instead of a duty
  • Hope and help when life gets too hard to have a quiet time

Betsy is a personal friend, and I really appreciate her words and her life testimony. She is the real deal.

Book FourNot Safe: Discovering God’s Dangerous Plan for Your Life. (Mark Batterson)

There is nothing more thrilling in life than to allow Jesus to make us dangerous.

Based on his bestselling book, All In, now distilled down for busy readers, Mark Batterson challenges the mistaken beliefs that God wants to send us to safe places to do easy things; that faithfulness is holding the fort; that playing it safe is safe; that there is any greater privilege than sacrifice; and that radical is anything but normal.

Instead, Batterson maintains that Jesus did not die to keep us safe.  He died to make us dangerous.   Here is a challenge to go all in and all out by fully surrendering your life to the daring plan God has for you.  The message of Not Safe is simple:  If Jesus is not Lord of all then Jesus is not lord at all.  It’s all or nothing.  Now or never.  Not safe or safe.

This little book challenged me greatly! I highly recommend it if you need an infusion of courage right now!

Book FiveHedge of Protection- A Counterfeit Covering: Why I stopped praying the hedge of protection and what I now pray instead. (Johanna Henderson)

What if for centuries we, the church, have been praying something God did not ask or intend for us to pray?

What if the hedge of protection is a counterfeit covering? For hundreds of years, Satan has been deceiving Christians concerning the hedge of protection. This book will take you to step by step to what scripture says concerning the hedge of protection and why there has been so much confusion over this specific topic.

In this book, you will learn why the hedge of protection is a counterfeit covering and what you can pray that will give you the true protective covering from the Lord. We must first know the truth to expose the lies of the enemy. John 8:32 says, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Such an interesting and thought-provoking book from my friend Johanna!

Book SevenJonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted. (Priscilla Shirer)

In this 7-session Bible study, redefine interruption and see that interruption is actually God’s invitation to do something beyond our wildest dreams.

When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the result was a revival in an entire city.

This is such a powerful study from Priscilla Shirer. And, there is a wonderful video series that goes along with this book.

Book EightDeveloping Female Leaders: Navigate the Minefields and Release the Potential of Women in Your Church. (Kadi Cole)

What would your church look like in the future if it were to maximize the dormant gifts of the women God has brought there?

In Developing Female Leaders, Kadi Cole, a twenty-year veteran in leadership and people development, offers a practical strategy to help the church and organizational leaders craft cultures that facilitate the development of women as volunteer and staff leaders.

Using interviews and surveys of more than one thousand women in the key church and organizational roles, combined with current research, the author has created eight easy-to-implement “best practices” that help accelerate a woman’s organizational contribution.

This is such an informative book about women in the church. I highly recommend it!

Book NineShift: Changing Our Focus to See the Presence of God. (Abby McDonald)

If we want to see God in the midst of our struggles, we have to change the way we look for him. There is no denying that miracles, answers to prayer, and abundant blessings testify to God’s presence. When the desires of our hearts are filled, it’s easy to see him. But what about the seasons when he seems invisible?

Scripture tells us God never sleeps, but it is easy to feel like he is not attuned to our needs. Shift explores the life-changing truth that when we adjust our lens to focus our eyes on God rather than on what we wish we were seeing in our lives, he reveals himself to us. In fact, those moments when he seems invisible to us are often when others see him the most in us.

This is such an inspiring book filled with wonderful truths and life applications from my friend Abby McDonald.

Book TenA Redesigned Life: Uncovering God’s Purpose When Life Doesn’t Go as Planned. (Tracy Steel)

The very existence of HGTV, the DIY movement, and Pinterest proves we love great design. We adore plans and perfectly staged rooms.

But what happens when we discover we are living a life we did not design? When our dreams lie in tatters or when we experience loss of any kind? What happens when life feels like one big Pinterest fails? Where is God in the midst of what doesn’t make sense? Does he care?

Drawing from time-honored design principles such as movement, contrast, and pattern, former interior designer and Bible teacher Tracy Steel offers frustrated and discontented women the assurance that God is their ever-present, caring Designer. With a mix of wit and wisdom, Tracy proves through biblical examples and personal testimony that God remains true to his plans and purposes, accomplishing them in and through us in every season of life.

Such an encouraging book from my fellow-blogging friend, Tracy Steel. I loved this one!
