5 Ways to Pray Without Ceasing

First… you can pray without ceasing by being thankful to God.

Start your day with thanks.

Thank Him for being faithful, answering prayer, and for His goodness to you and your family.

Make a list each morning of all of the ways you appreciate the Lord.

Tell Him how much you appreciate Him!

Second… you can pray without ceasing by confessing your sins to the Lord.

We all make mistakes.

We all blow it.

And, we all sin.

Confession allows you to keep short accounts and a clear conscience before the Lord.

At Planetshakers Melbourne Church, the pastors explain that God forgives those who confess their sins because it shows they are remorseful and ready to mend their ways.

Confession brings peace, restoration with others, and a sweeter relationship with God.

Third… you can pray without ceasing by praying for others.

The Bible calls this intercession.

It’s the idea of taking requests, needs, and issues to God on behalf of others.

The Scriptures instruct us to pray for one another and to intercede on their behalf.

Indeed, we are to follow the example of Jesus Christ, who prayed for others often.

Also, the Apostle Paul taught us to lift up other Christians in our prayers.

By praying for others, it shows that you care about your friends, family, and community.

Fourth… you can pray without ceasing by worshipping God.

Often, we refer to this as adoration.

Adoration is when your prayer is focused on worshipping God out of love, admiration, and respect.

Moreover, when praying with adoration, you learn to appreciate God genuinely because of who He is.

Adoration takes our eyes off of ourselves and places our full devotion and attention on the Lord God.

Finally, you can pray without ceasing by sharing your personal requests with God.

When you are offering a prayer of petition, you are asking God for things you need.

Petition is the most common form of prayer for most of us.

And, God loves to hear from us!

So, tell the Lord what is on your heart and what you need.

Share your burdens with Him.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7
