It’s been one of those weeks.
Maybe for you too?
My heart has been through a myriad of emotions this past week.
And, everything in between.
We ALL face seasons when our “hearts” grow weary.
Discouragement can threaten each of us.
I don’t know any of God’s children who don’t sometimes need to hear a good word.
A word of comfort.
A word of hope.
A word of reminder.
A word that soothes.
I know I do!
And, I’m guessing you do as well.
So, I offer these wonderful promises from God’s Word to you today. I am praying you will be encouraged and comforted as you read.
Here are 7 Soothing Promises to Comfort the Discouraged Heart.
Soothing Promise One
“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.” (Lam. 3:22, NLT)
Soothing Promise Two
“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” (Psalm 46:1, NLT)
He says, “Stop your striving and recognize that I am God! I will be exalted over the nations! I will be exalted over the earth!” (Psalm 46:10, NET)
Soothing Promise Three
“Why am I discouraged?
Why is my heart so sad?
I will put my hope in God!
I will praise him again—
my Savior and my God!”
(Psalm 42:5, NLT)
Soothing Promise Four
“Anxiety weighs down the heart,
but a kind word cheers it up.”

Soothing Promise Five
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (Deuteronomy 31:8, NLT)
Soothing Promise Six
What a great reminder from my friend Dawn!
Makes me think of Romans 8:28…
“And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.” (Romans 8:28, AMP)
Soothing Promise Seven
It’s a great way to pray for someone you love!
“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.
May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” (Ephesians 3:16-19, NLT)
And, Lynnette, this one is for you!
You may be the only one who really loves this song!
