8 Great Ways to Pray for Preschoolers

And, because preschoolers have a short attention span, and because your time is limited, I’ve kept these prayers very, very short!

These are preschool-style prayers, preschool-length, and preschool-type prayers!

Here are 8 Great Ways to Pray for Preschoolers:

Pray for Your Preschooler to Relate Well to Others

“And be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” (Ephesians 4:32, KJV)

PRAYER – “Lord, encourage _____ to be kind to others, tender-hearted, forgiving of others, and to become more like You.”

Pray for Your Preschoolers to Be Filled with Joy

“But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy.” (Psalm 68:3, NLT)

PRAYER – “Father, let _____ be filled with great joy as _____ comes to understand more and more about You.”

Pray for Your Preschoolers to Become Wise

“How much better to get wisdom than gold, and good judgment than silver!” (Proverbs 16:16, NLT)

PRAYER – “God, would You lead ______ toward wisdom more than toward gold? Would You draw ______ to good judgment more than to silver.”

Pray for Your Preschoolers to Learn & to Love to Learn

“My children, listen when your father corrects you. Pay attention and learn good judgment.” Proverbs 4:1, NLT)

PRAYER – “Lord, let ______ listen when we correct them. Encourage ______ to pay attention and to learn good judgment.”

Pray for Your Preschoolers to Not Be Gullible

“Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves.” (Matthew 10:16, NLT)

PRAYER – “Father, would You make _____ wise and shrewd. Don’t let _____ be gullible or foolish. And, teach _____ how to be shrewd while still being kind.”

Pray for Your Preschoolers to Be Persistent

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” (Galatians 6:9, NLT)

PRAYER – “God, would You fill ______ with courage and incredible persistence. Let ______ not get tired of doing what is good and right. Help _____ not to give up or quit without giving his/her all.”

Pray for Your Preschoolers to Be Loving

“And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.” (1 Thess. 3:12)

PRAYER – “Father, would You give _____ a love for others. Let _____ love all people and overflow with love.”

Pray for Your Preschoolers to Come to Jesus

‘But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”’ (Matthew 19:14, NLT)
