How About a Little Humor?

I thought something light-hearted might be nice today.

There’s much to hear, see and watch in the world that is sobering and heavy. There’s much sadness we can focus upon.

We all need to laugh sometimes! This post is filled with cartoons, quotes, and videos that are sure to bring out at least a little smile today!

Today, let’s focus instead on the word – “HUMOR.”

Humor is defined as something, “comical, playful, full of whimsy and pleasantry” (

Today’s post is my attempt to add a little whimsy and pleasantry to your day.

Why not – Loosen your seriousness belt and take a few moments to enjoy some good, clean humor. ~ Let’s start with some funny photos from Pinterest, a sharing site that’s filled with all sorts of images – funny, gorgeous, helpful and interesting. (

These are a few photos to hopefully get your comic senses warmed up…

Now, that you have found your silly side, how about a few videos?

The first video may be familiar to you if you are over a certain age (or watched TV Land or some other oldies’ station). This is the famous chocolate scene. It’s about 2 minutes long.

This video is an oldie as well.

See if you remember this one? It’s about 4 minutes in length.

This next video is much more recent.

We found this Christian comedian when we lived in North Carolina. Her name is Jeanne Robertson, and her humor is clean and fun.

This video lasts about eight minutes.

That’s it for today’s attempt at humor.

May God cheer your heart and give you hope. May He fill you with a cheerful disposition.

“A cheerful disposition is good for your health; gloom and doom leave you bone-tired.” (Proverbs 17:22)

  1. Well, you brought a smile to my day! I love posts like this. Thanks for sharing all the funny pics and videos. I hope you have a great weekend, Melanie!

    1. BTW, that cat/owl in a tree looks exactly like my cat! She’s always getting stuck in trees. Now I’ve got it figured out. She thinks she’s an owl. ; )

  2. The phone one! I show my students telephones from the past and they look at me like I’m making it up. That one is a classic. This made me laugh for sure today Melanie.

    1. Yes! Those classic phones can really date us! And, cassette tapes and boom boxes and so on!

So glad I made you laugh!

I will have to post some more of these! Love hearing the laughter across the wires!

      Have a blessed weekend~

  3. Thank you for today’s smiles. It’s good to laugh. It releases dolphins within us and they tickle us from inside and make us happy.

I read this in a medical book I am writing.

    God bless.

  4. Love all of this! I consider myself somewhat of a humorist (not ready to really call myself that in case I realize that I’m not funny) so I’m all about this! Thanks for a wonderful end to the week! Love this woman Jeanne Robertson! I’m a wannabe standup comedienne as well, but for now, I’m sticking with sit-down because I’m funnier on paper. Blessings to you, Melanie!

    1. Hey Mary,

So glad you popped in for a visit today! I’ll be you are funnier than you think you are!

And, don’t you love Jeanne! She really makes me laugh!

I’l have to stop in for some of your humor! I love to laugh at spoken and written things!

You’ve encouraged me today, and I hope you have a great weekend~

  5. Thanks for this, Melanie! When I saw “How About a Little Humor” over at the Faith ‘n Friends Blog Hop, I thought, “Yes, please!” I have one tween and one teen daughter, and if we didn’t have humor around here, things would get ugly in a hurry. Have a funny Friday! 😉

    1. Hey Elizabeth,

Thanks for stopping by today! You are going to need daily infusions of humor with two teens!! In fact, I recommend as much humor as possible during these years!

      So, glad you were encouraged!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend~
