Let’s be honest… sometimes it’s hard to walk this Christian walk.

We grow weary.

Or, we fall down.

And, we make mistakes.

Walking this Christian walk can be hard some days. We get distracted, weary, and worn down. How can we keep going strong? How can we keep the faith? The Bible is filled with verses to encourage us and keep us going in our faith. Why not stop by for some scriptures that will inspire your faith today?

Scriptures to Encourage You to Be More FAITHFUL

We get distracted.

Further, we get hurt by others.

And, we lose heart.

Truly, we want to give up some days.

I don’t know a single Christ-follower who doesn’t face moments when they need their faith encouraged and strengthened.

Stronger faith begins with daily, hourly, and even minute by minute choices to keep on keeping on.

To keep walking, it helps to have some powerful words of scripture to carry with us.

In addition, God’s words can inspire us, exhort us, and give us the courage we need to keep moving forward.

Here are some Scriptures to Encourage You (and me) to Be More FAITHFUL today:

First…  Lamentations 3:23

“Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided,
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!”

(Hymn – “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” written by Chisholm & Runyan.)

Second… 1 Corinthians 16:13

One of my very favorite Bible teachers (Gerry Sisk) used to regularly remind us to be strong. Over and over, she would exhort us to stand firm in our faith.

Today’s verse is a great reminder for all of us, “Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13.

**Praying that you and I will stand firm in our faith this day!

Third…  Psalm 100:5

What a sweet promise from a well-known Psalm!

“For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” Psalm 100:5

Fourth…  Psalm 36:5

Do you ever have one of those days when you wonder what on earth is going on?

This verse is a great reminder of those hard days!

“Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.” (Psalm 36:5)

**Today, if you find yourself doubting, anxious, or worried… look up to the heavens and the clouds. Be reminded that your great God is more loving and more faithful than anything you can see! His love is as vast as the heavens. His faithfulness reaches beyond all of those clouds!

Fifth…  Micah 7:7

Oh, aren’t you thankful for verses like this one in the Bible??

Micah’s words are filled with courage & faith: “As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.” (Micah 7:7)

*We too can look to the Lord for help! We can wait confidently for Him to save us! He WILL certainly hear us!

Sixth… Exodus 34:6

In this story, Moses asked to see God’s glory. Consequently, God told him where to stand so he wouldn’t miss out.

When God came down and called out to Moses, this verse was the way He started the conversation: “Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.” (Exodus 34:6)

*Just as God was compassionate, merciful, slow to anger, and full of unfailing love and faithfulness with the Jewish people in Moses’s day, He also graciously offers all of His goodness to us through the person of Jesus Christ! The God of Moses is our God as well!

Seventh Isaiah 43:1-3

Indeed, even on the darkest, hardest days… God is faithful. Truly, He is with us – always!

*What an encouraging promise from Isaiah 43:1-3.

“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. And, when you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.”

I love this Melanie! I am a firm believer that we need scripture in our hearts and minds to have something to cling to and focus on when we are suffering, hurt by others, worn out… if it is not the word of God in our minds it will be something else that can send us into a deeper spiral! Thank you for sharing these encouraging verses!
