It happens several times a week.
Sometimes it comes by way of an email.
Other times, I find it in my direct messages on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or Linked In.
No matter the means of communication, the message is pretty much the same.
It’s usually in the form of a question.
“Do you have a few minutes where I could pick your brain about Pinterest?”
“Could you help me to plan my book launch?”
“How do you get such great engagement on social media?”
“I’d love to have more followers. Can you help?”
“Do you have time to talk?”
The Benefits of Trying Something New
For the past four years, I’ve answered emails, talked to people over the phone, texted back, and spent many hours on Skype, Zoom, and Facetime.
In a typical week, I’ll talk to 7-10 people about their social media accounts, book launches, and other online issues.
That’s 7-10 hours each week, 28-40 hours each month.
All of this, I’ve done to be kind and gracious.
I’ve given it all away as a free gift.
And, I’ve loved it.
Counting the Cost
But, hosting a website, publishing books, and sharing regular content is not easy, quick, or free.
I spend many hours and many dollars each week to do ministry, to support others, and to reach out across the world.
In talking with my board of directors, close friends, and family members, we’ve realized that all of this time spent giving out free advice may not be the best option as we move into the future.
We need to try something new!
Something New
To be a better steward of both my time and resources, I’ve decided to try something new.
This is a PIVOT for me – a move in a brand-new direction.
It’s a little awkward, and it goes against my normal grain. But, I want to be wiser in the days ahead.
And, I want you to know what is going on!
There will be challenges to this new endeavor, but there will also be benefits—great benefits.
As I began to research, I found so many amazing reasons to try something new.

Benefits of Trying Something New
Trying something new is powerful and beneficial to you and me for at least 3 reasons:
First… Trying something new benefits you by helping you to overcome fear.
When we launch into something new and different, we push ourselves out of our comfort zones and against our regular patterns.
This push causes us to conquer any fear and lingering doubt that may be hanging around.
We choose courage when we try something new.

Second… Trying something new benefits you by getting you unstuck.
Do you ever feel like you get stuck in a rut? You do the same thing, the same way, at the same time.
What if today you tried something new and different?
Need ideas?
Here are some ideas of new things you might attempt.
Third… Trying something new benefits you by exercising your faith.
In addition, faith requires us to try new things.
Honestly, you can’t stay safely in your corner and launch out into the deep with Almighty God.
Often God nudges us to try new things, to attempt new feats, to climb new walls, and to step out in faith.
Consider the words of Isaiah 43:18-19:
“But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?”

Truly, making a pivot is never easy, and this is a pivot for me in my ministry and business.
It’s a big change!
I would so appreciate your assistance in these ways:
First… Pray for us as we move the Ministry of Hope beyond daily Scriptures, weekly blogs, weekly emails, and encouraging daily interaction on social media and email.
Second… If you believe that this course (or any of our future courses or products) will help you to grow your efforts in ministry or business, jump in and try one.
Third… Let your friends and family know about any post, email, course, book, or product that you think they might enjoy or benefit from!
Fourth… Share your feedback, ideas, suggestions, and questions with us.
Thank You!
