You Are Not Stuck—You Have Been Positioned

Have you ever felt stuck?

Maybe you’re standing at a crossroads, feeling invisible, overlooked, or unsure of what comes next.

If so, I want to encourage you today: You are not stuck. You have been positioned.

Let me share a bit of my story—a story I believe will breathe hope into yours.

As a young woman at Mississippi State University, I dreamed of being a broadcast news anchor. I had the energy, the passion, and a thick Mississippi Delta accent.

But a professor told me, “You’ll never make it in broadcast news with that accent.”

So, I changed my major to public relations.

After Graduation

After graduation, I landed a PR job where I spoke to thousands of educators and students. The very voice I was told would hold me back became the voice I used to inspire others. Looking back, I realize: I wasn’t stuck. God had positioned me for a purpose.

Marriage brought me to a small Mississippi town, where PR jobs were scarce. I helped nonprofits and volunteered, but sometimes, I felt stuck. One night, driving home with my daughters, I saw a barefoot woman running down the road, chased by a man with a knife.

Everything in me said, “Don’t stop.”

But the Holy Spirit whispered, “STOP THE CAR.”

I listened. We brought her to safety, and she told me, “He was going to kill me.”

At that moment, I knew: I hadn’t been stuck in that small town. I had been positioned.

Lord, Use Me!

As our family grew, I homeschooled our oldest two children.

When I couldn’t keep up with all their needs, I co-founded a classical school for homeschoolers. Meridian Classical Center for Learning now serves over 200 students. It wasn’t my plan, but it was part of God’s positioning.

In 2016, my husband and I left behind our dream home and community for a bigger city. I felt lonely and unseen. I prayed, “Lord, use me.”

Soon after, I discovered podcasts and was encouraged by the encouraging voice of a woman I’d never met. That experience sparked a dream: If I could be that voice for even one woman, it would be worth it.

We Launched Out

With a friend, I launched the Life Coach BFF Show podcast. We laughed, learned, and reminded women they weren’t alone.

When I wanted to quit, God sent encouragement—a message from a CNN producer wanting to feature the podcast. How amazing! The girl told her she’d never make it in broadcast because of her accent… God positioned her right where she needed to be.

After recovering from illness, a friend encouraged me to write a book. I prayed, “Lord, if you want me to write, give me the words.”

He did—sentence by sentence. I wrote Keep It Simple, Sarah, for Christian teen girls. CNN featured the book, and it became an Amazon bestseller and #1 new release.

Once again, I saw that I was not stuck. I have been positioned.

Our Story – You Are Not Stuck—You Have Been Positioned

I’ve been married to David for 30 years. We have two grown daughters, both married, a precious grandbaby (with another on the way), and two sons at home. My family is my greatest joy and the source of my best stories.

Today, I serve women in the middle of their stories through my podcast, speaking, and coaching.

Even more, I remind women that life doesn’t end in midlife—it reinvents. With Dr. Carol Lynn, I help women embrace the changes of midlife with hope and courage.

For You – You Are Not Stuck—You Have Been Positioned

Wherever you are today, if you feel stuck, know this: You are not stuck. You have been positioned.

Maybe for your child, your neighbor, or a dream you’ve tucked away.

Declutter your mind, dream wild dreams, and don’t be afraid to fail.

Moreover, perfect is boring and doesn’t exist. Take the opportunity. Speak up. Start again. Keep going.

Truly, God’s not done with you yet.

You are not stuck.

You have been positioned.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” — Romans 8:28
