Why Do We Think Surrender Is Such a Colossal Challenge?

Why Do We Think Surrender Is Such a Colossal Challenge?
Can we be honest here?
Surrender is hard.
We Fight to Hold It All Together.
But somewhere in the middle of all the chaos, we can feel ourselves breaking.
Not because we’re weak, but because we were never meant to carry all this on our own!
Some of us are exhausted right now from trying to carry what God never asked us to.
We cling to plans, people, and outcomes as if our very lives depended on it.
But real hope begins when our need to control ends.
Here’s the truth we often resist … (at least I know I do).
Surrender is not the end of our strength … it’s the beginning of His.
Jesus never asked us to figure it all out.
He just asked us to come to Him.
To let go, trust, and rest in His love.
To release the grip on what’s not ours to control.
And open our hands to what only He can do for us.
We will never find the peace we crave by trying to control it all.
But we will find hope when we finally let go.
When we surrender, we make room
When we surrender, we make room:
Room for Jesus.
Room for His peace.
And, room for His healing.
Room for His hope.
And this is not just a vague hope we’re grasping at, my friend!
But the kind of hope that anchors us in rock-solid certainty:
Certain that God is good.
Certain that He sees us.
And… Certain that even now, He’s working all things out for our good.

Scripture about Surrender
In Matthew 11:28, Jesus tells us: “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (NIV).
Friend, if you’re tired of striving, you don’t have to fake being strong anymore. You can have real rest. Real hope.
But this will only come on the other side of your surrender.
But here’s the beautiful part:
What you release, God will redeem.
What you place in His hands, He will multiply.
And… What you let go of, He will use for His glory and for your good.
Surrender isn’t giving up — it’s giving over.
It’s inviting God into the middle of the chaos and untying His hands to move mightily on our behalf. And when we place it all in God’s hands, we gain something the world can’t offer us:
HIS peace that makes absolutely no sense and a hope that will endure.
Surrender isn’t the end.
It’s just the beginning of real hope.
My Friend, let’s remind each other that hope will rise on the other side of our surrender!
