How God Provides Surprisingly Better than We Expect

How God Provides Surprisingly Better than We Expect
By faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place he was to receive for an inheritance, and he went out, not knowing where he was going. -Hebrews 11:13
When I read about Abraham’s faithful obedience, I’m reminded of the verse in Isaiah 58:11 that says, “Where God guides, He provides.”
Abraham’s life was full of choices in which he proved his faithfulness.
God told him to leave his home and go to a new land—and Abraham obeyed, fully trusting that God would provide.
He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what he had promised he was also able to perform.
-Romans 4:21
Over the Years
Over the years, our family has moved several times, and I must admit that I wasn’t always immediately thrilled or obedient. I questioned God. And, I was upset and frustrated about moving away from family and friends. Truly, I definitely felt like I was in a foreign land.
But these passages remind me that we shouldn’t be surprised when God asks us to give up our comfort and familiar surroundings. He wants to carry out his will in our lives, and part of that process is growing our faith through each season.
The next time God calls, we should respond promptly with obedient faith, trusting that he will fulfill his promises.
No Matter Where We Go
Since that first move, my family has moved two more times.
And friends, every move has grown my faith, brought new friends into my life, offered new opportunities, and taken me to exciting new places.
Most importantly, He has taught me to rely on God every step of the way.
Wherever You Are Right Now
Wherever you are right now, this is not wasted time.
Step out in faith and watch God show up and show off in your life.
Walk confidently with him, and he will supply all you need. God can do whatever he promises. Because where God guides, he always provides!
Prayer for Greater Faith:
“Gracious Father, You have written all our days in your book before one of them came to be. You know the end from the beginning, and nothing escapes your sight. Help us surrender our fears and anxieties, trusting fully in your perfect plan.
Remind us that with you by our side, we are never in a foreign land. Thank you for going before us, preparing the way-even when we cannot see a path forward.
Where we see impossibilities, you make a way. Where we see darkness, you shine your light. Our path is secure, and our future is bright because you walk with us. Strengthen our faith, deepen our trust, and help us rest in the assurance of your precious presence. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.”
