It was called the “Merry Go Round.”
Every day at recess, we would run and jump on that crazy thing for the fun of it. and spin around until we were dizzy.
We would spin, twirl, swirl, bounce, and ride around until we were dizzy.
(Or, we’d get thrown off because it was going so fast!)
Sometimes, life feels like we are riding on one of those crazy “Merry Go Rounds” again.
We spin, we swirl, we twirl, we bounce, and we ride through life until we are completely dizzy.
Even when we get off of a particular “ride,” things can keep spinning.
It can be hard to walk with steady footing.
Our steps can become uneven.
We can even feel a little dazed and confused with all that the “rides” of life are throwing at us.
I’ve felt that way this past week… like I was recovering from riding some silly, spinning ride at Six Flags.
Only the weak-in-the-knees feelings weren’t caused by some amusement park ride, but rather by some unexpected life events.
Maybe you too have been bewildered and made unsteady by life events as well.
They can hit us at any time… out of the blue, unexpectedly, and without warning.
The phone will ring, and the conversation will throw us off balance.
The email or text message will appear, and we will wonder how to respond.
A knock at the door can totally start our world spinning.
Whatever the case, wherever you are, no matter what life is throwing at your right this moment — can I encourage you with something awesome:
God is NEVER off balance.
He’s never out of control, dizzy, or bewildered.
He is always alert, aware, and attentive.
Our God is completely unshakable.
And, His Word is filled with great words for when we feel shaky!
Here are 7 Powerful Assurances When Life Is Spinning Around Too Fast:
Powerful Assurance One –
Don’t you love imagining this scene?
Jesus, seated at the right hand of the Father, is constantly praying for you and for me!
“Therefore, He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them.”
Hebrews 7:27, AMP
Powerful Assurance Two –
This may be one of my favorite passages in all of the Bible!❤️
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-38, NLT
Powerful Assurance Three –
NOTHING can separate you from God’s love!??
You can read the blog post that goes with this truth HERE.
Powerful Assurance Four –
There are moments in life when we have to declare our faith in trust in Almighty God.
He promises to be faithful!
✅We don’t see Him working.
✅We can’t feel anything.
✅Nothing is happening.
✅All is quiet.
✅We are just waiting.
That’s when we look to heaven and declare, “I will wait on the Lord, and I will hope in Him.” Isaiah 8:17??
Powerful Assurance Five –
Do things ever seem DARK in your world?
Here are some encouraging words from David in Psalm 18:
“Lord, you give light to my lamp. My God brightens the darkness around me [lights up/illuminates my darkness].”
Psalm 18:28, EXB
Powerful Assurance Six –
His mercy is everlasting and His truth endures to all generations!
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,?
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good;?
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.”????
Psalm 100:4-5, NKJV
Powerful Assurance Seven –
Jesus is our HOPE! ?
He’s the Anchor of our souls!
He’s our unbreakable spiritual lifeline!
“We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go.
It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us, in the order of Melchizedek.”
Hebrews 6:19-20, MSG
