8 Ways We Know that God is Faithful
8 Ways We Know that God is Faithful
God’s Faithfulness.
Most of us have known about it since we were small children.
We’ve heard about the faithfulness of God in church and Sunday school.

8 Ways We Know that God is Faithful
We’ve read about the faithfulness of God in the Bible. And, we’ve even sung about the faithfulness of God in our songs.
Classics like, “Great is Thy Faithfulness” line our hymnals and songbooks.
However, sometimes, it just doesn’t FEEL like God is being faithful.
Yet, sometimes, it just doesn't FEEL like God is being faithful. Share on X
Sometimes…
Sometimes it’s when we wait forever for Him to answer our prayers (while others are enjoying miraculous answers to prayer.)
Also, sometimes we doubt God’s faithfulness when life knocks the breath out of us.
At times, we can wonder about God’s faithfulness when we have to deal with the ravaging effects of cancer – nausea, pain, sleeplessness, and sickness.
When the divorce papers are final or the pregnancy test is once again “negative,” we can lose hope in the Lord.
As we have to say, “Goodbye” to someone that we love dearly, we can begin to doubt God’s faithfulness.
There are moments in life when we grow weary, empty, and tired as we wait for our God to come through for us.
In all of these challenging moments, we need to be reminded of some great truths that affirm God’s faithful nature.
Here are 8 Ways We Know that God is Faithful – 8 Ways that we can KNOW God is trustworthy.

First, God is Faithful in 1 John 1:9.
It’s some of the best news in all of the scriptures – God is faithful and just to forgive us of all of our sins!
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9
Second, God is Faithful in Psalm 71:22.
In Psalm 71, the Psalmist recounts a lifetime of God’s faithfulness.
From the time he was young until old age, God has helped him, saved him, given him hope, and been his strength and protection.
He was so moved by thinking about God’s faithfulness that he wanted to get on his harp and praise God.
We may not play the harp, but we can take time today to praise God for how faithful He has been to us, how faithful He is currently, and how faithful He will continue to be.

God is faithful!
“You are faithful to your promises, O my God.”
Psalm 71:22, NLT
Third, God is Faithful in Psalm 89:8.
In all things, the Lord is faithful.
The Message reads like this, “God-of-the-Angel-Armies, who is like you, powerful and faithful from every angle?”
Don’t you love knowing that we serve a God who is completely faithful?
He is faithful and powerful from every vantage point. His faithfulness surrounds Him.
Today, if you are in doubt about some issue in your life, why not invite the Lord to give you a BIGGER GLIMPSE of His power and faithfulness?

Fourth, God is Faithful in Psalm 143:1.
In this Psalm, David is appealing to God in prayer.
He’s asking God to “give ear” to his prayers of supplication.
He bases his appeal on God’s character – His faithfulness and righteousness.
As God’s children, we can do the same thing. We can take our prayers to God and appeal to Him based on His character.
Today, you might even want to pray this prayer of David,
“Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous.”
Psalm 143:1
Fifth, God is Faithful in 1 Corinthians 1:9.
When the enemy comes against us, this may be one of his favorite lies, “God is NOT faithful.”
But the Bible reminds us over and over that our God is completely faithful and trustworthy.

Even if it does not feel like it today and you are tempted to doubt, be reminded of this…
“God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can depend on); by Him, you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
1 Cor. 1:9, AMPC
Sixth, God is Faithful in Psalm 16:11.
Psalm 16 is one of my favorite chapters in all of the Psalms.
These words of David remind us of the many joys & benefits we will enjoy when we live in a close relationship & companionship with the Lord Jesus.
“You alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing, You guard all that is mine.”
Psalm 16:11, NLT
Seventh, God is Faithful in Psalm 119:90.
What a sweet promise from the Bible!!
God WAS faithful to our grandparents and great-grandparents.
Truly, He IS faithful to us and our generation.
And, He WILL BE faithful to our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

**Almighty God is always and forever FAITHFUL!
“His faithfulness extends to every generation.”
Psalm 119:90, NLT
Finally, God is Faithful in Lamentations 3:22-23.
This passage from Lamentations 3:19-24 always gives me hope.
I pray you will be encouraged by these words as well.
“The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words.
I will never forget this awful time,
as I grieve over my loss.
Yet I still dare to hope
when I remember this:
The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!”
Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. Share on X
