How Do I Really Know That God CARES?
How Do I Know That God CARES?
Does it sometimes feel like God doesn’t really care about you?
After all, you can’t see Him, hear Him, or touch Him.
A sweet friend asked me some hard questions this week.
She wanted to know:
- Do you really believe God cares?
- Will He come through for us?
- Can I count on Him?
- Are you sure?
- And, if so, how do you KNOW that He cares?
I thought I’d answer her questions in the form of a blog post.
Here are 6 Ways that we KNOW that God cares for us:
1} We know that God cares because of the peace He gives us when we roll our burdens on Him.
“Turn all your anxiety over to God because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
Whatever is weighing us down, we can put it on Him!
I love the way the Living Bible puts it, “Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.” (1 Peter 5:7, TLB)
Today, we can turn it ALL over to Him and enjoy His peace and His grace.
2} We know He cares because of the Bible – His word to us.
Don’t you love this reminder from Dr. Adrian Rogers?
The Bible is not some old musty history book; it’s “a supernatural, spiritual, sovereign, surviving, sustaining, supercharged Book about my Savior!”
Be encouraged today: we serve a living God who has given us His living Word!
3} We know God cares by looking at creation.
He takes care of all of the rest of creation; He can and will take care of us!
“Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Matthew 6:26)
4} We have direct access we have to Him in prayer.
We can talk to Him all the time.
“Never stop praying.” (1 Thess. 5:17)
How can we possibly do this? How do you pray all day?
We can talk to God.
Sing to Him.
Think about Him.
Think of a Bible verse.
Cry out to Him.
Thank Him.
Ask Him a question.
Enjoy time in His presence.
5} We know He cares because of the way He fights for us and protects us!
“The Lord will fight for you. All you have to do is keep still.” (Ex.14:14, NLV)
6} We know He cares because of the way He infuses us with the courage to keep going.
Sometimes… We just get up and do the next thing. We press on… And, we keep going… We don’t quit!
“I’m not there yet, nor have I become perfect; but I am charging on to gain anything and everything the Anointed One, Jesus, has in store for me—and nothing will stand in my way because He has grabbed me and won’t let me go.” (Phil. 3:12, VOICE)
Praying that today you and I will keep pressing on–no matter what!
You may not FEEL like God cares for you today, but I can assure you that He does!
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Hey Margaret,
I’m pausing to pray for you this morning! I know life can be lonely.
Truly, I believe we are living in an epidemic of loneliness.
I’m praying with you for friends, community, conversations, and connection.
Perhaps starting today, you can begin reaching out to one old friend each day. Text, email or call those that used to be in your life.
And, talk to Jesus all the time!
