Today marks the beginning of a brand new year.
Calendars turn over.
New budgets begin.
And, we have to learn to write “2017” on everything!
As we launch out into another year, there are a myriad of emotions that come into play.
For some of us, there is excitement.
For others, there’s a sense of relief that 2016 is over.
You may feel anticipation, hope, expectation, and even joy.
Or, you may have feelings of uncertainty, fear, and possibly even dread.
If fear, worry, and anxiety are issues in your life, why not FOCUS on some words that will encourage you and give you peace?
One of the best ways to overcome fear and face the future with hope is to gather a few Bible verses.
Great verses about overcoming fear are scattered throughout the Bible. I’ve put together a list some of my very favorite verses that help me to fight fear.
I’ve also made a printable that you can save and print to use in 2017. This printable is available at the end of this post.
Here are 9 Verses That Will Help You to Overcome FEAR:
Verse One – Genesis 26:23-24
From there Isaac moved to Beersheba, where the Lord appeared to him on the night of his arrival. “I am the God of your father, Abraham,” he said. “Do not be afraid, for I am with you and will bless you. I will multiply your descendants, and they will become a great nation. I will do this because of my promise to Abraham, my servant.”
Verse Two – Deuteronomy 20:1
“When you go out to fight your enemies and you face horses and chariots and an army greater than your own, do not be afraid. The Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with you!”
Verse Three – Joshua 1:9
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go.”
Verse Four – Psalm 46:1-2
“God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.
So we will not fear when earthquakes come
and the mountains crumble into the sea.”
Verse Five – Isaiah 41:10
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
Verse Six – Isaiah 43:1
But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you.
O Israel, the one who formed you says,
“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
I have called you by name; you are mine.”
Verse Seven – Matthew 10:31
“So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”
Verse Eight – John 14:27
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
Verse Nine – 1 Peter 5:7
“casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].” (AMP)
